**We will be starting
a poetry unit along with Mrs. Davitz, Mrs. Moran, and Ms
DeJulio. We will be looking at different types of poetry
centering on a similar theme.
**You will be compiling your poetry (both original
and published poems) into a Power Point presentation with
illustrations and photographs. We will be presenting these
poetry collections, anthologies, in the LRC as a culminating
activity. We are going to convert part of the LRC into a
coffee house and have an authentic poetry reading setting.

**Project outline: You will be researching
different types of poetry around a specific theme.
You will be writing poetry in at least 3 different
genres. Also, you will be researching published poems
to include in your anthology as well. Your Power
Point presentation will have each of these poems
illustrated.
**We will be working with Mrs. Davitz
who will be putting our writing online and creating
online resources for our work. You will be using
different web sites and online resources as well
as have the chance to have your poems published on
the E-Zine.
**You will have the chance to submit
your work to me and have it looked at any time you
wish. Mrs. Davitz is creating a submission site for
your poetry. She will explain to you how to access
that site. Feel free to use it throughout the unit.
