Technology at Attea


We are very proud of the technology available to enhance student learning at Attea. Because technology is mobile at Attea, it can be used flexibly as a tool within the classroom environment. Instruction can be both collaborative and individualized to meet the unique needs of all learners. Better integration of technology into the overall curriculum is possible when you have a wireless environment.

According to the International Society of Technology and Education, it is vital we work toward training students to be "technology capable. To live, learn, and work in an increasingly complex and information-rich society, students must use technology effectively. Within a sound educational setting, technology can enable students to become:

    1. capable information technology users
    2. information seekers, analyzers, and evaluators
    3. problem solvers and decision-makers
    4. creative and effective users of productivity tools
    5. communicators, collaborators, publishers, and producers
    6. informed, responsible, and contributing citizens

Technology at Attea is used for online research, desktop publishing, word processing, concept mapping, assessment and video production.

Technology at Attea includes:

  • A wireless environment throughout the building
  • Eight laptop carts for classroom checkout-192 laptop computers (both PC and Mac platform)
  • Eight interactive Smart Boards
  • 11 Document Readers
  • Projectors in several classrooms
  • Several digital still shot cameras and video cameras for student and teacher use
  • A video editing room
  • Four multimedia common area rooms equipped with LCD projectors, computers, DVD players, VCRs, CD players, and scanners
  • Electronic microscopes for Science
  • TI graphing calculators for math
  • Software includes Microsoft Office, Inspiration, Dreamweaver, iLife Suite of programs and more...
  • Power Teacher
  • Classroom Performance System (CPS)
  • Audio-visual equipment in most classrooms
