About Me

Mr. Dzianott is passionate about teaching reading and writing. He is happy to work with any student that wants to attempt to get writing published, particularly in the annual Attea literary anthology, AIRBORNE. He enjoys discussing books and literature and would be more than happy to recommend books for anyone who is not sure what they will read next.

About Me

Mr. Glassner is the Patriots math teacher. This is his first year on Patriots after spending the last three years teaching math across all the middle school grade levels. He received his Bachelors of Arts from Northeastern Illinois University in Middle Level Education and Elementary Education. While he may be "just a math teacher", he holds an appreciation for all subjects (especially math and physics)- as he is endorsed in all core subjects. He believes that math is the "language of the universe", and it is imperative that all students can communicate mathematically. He is also the Science Olympiad coach for "Reach for the Stars"/"Solar System" and a co-sponsor of Attea's GSA club. He also has classroom pets- two leopard geckos- that reside in the classroom. Outside of school, he enjoys going to the gym, reading Young Adult literature, playing Pokemon Go, and spending time with his dog, Vanilla (an 80 pound pit bull).

About Me

This is Ms. Kroeze's third year in District 34, first year at Attea. She taught 6th Grade Math at Springman before this. She graduated Wheaton College with an Education and Math Degree. In addition, she has a Master's Degree in Social Work. Ms. Kroeze enjoys traveling overseas and exploring different cultures. Looking forward to a great school year!

About Me

I'm excited to be working with the 8th grade this year! I have looped with these students since 6th grade and it's so fun to see how they have grown. This is my 16th year in District #34 and I have worked as a social worker at both Henking School and Attea Middle School. My free time is spent going on adventures and doing crafts with my 5 year old twins, baking, working out, and also planning our big trip to Disney World over spring break.

About Me

Ms. Potter’s role as Student Services teacher is to provide and coordinate supports that ensure all students meet success with academics as well as social/emotional growth. She teaches small-group math and resource classes in addition to working alongside other Patriot teachers within their classrooms. Prior to joining the staff at Attea, Ms. Potter taught in Connecticut and New York. In her free time she enjoys traveling and going on adventures both near and far, hiking, shopping, visiting museums, and working on home projects.

About Me

Mrs. Harwell is looking forward to another great year teaching art. This is her fifth year at Attea but has also worked at Hoffman, Henking, and Glen Grove. She attended Illinois State University for her Bachelors degree in Art Education and completed her Masters at Concordia University. Mrs. Harwell also works with art club every Wednesday after school from 3:00-4:05 from October-May.

About Me

Mrs. Reatherford loves to make music and is eager to begin her 23rd year as a middle school band director! Before directing the Attea Flyer Bands, she taught in Michigan, Wisconsin, and at Pleasant Ridge and Springman. Mrs. Reatherford earned a BME from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a MME from Northwestern University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher (EAYA Music-Band) and currently serves on the Illinois Grade School Music Association Board as a District Chairperson.

About Me

Bonjour! I began teaching French at Attea when it opened in 2003. I have loved the French language and culture since I began studying it when I was in middle school. I earned my BA in French along with my education certificate from Gettysbug College. Before Attea, I taught both second and first grade in the Chicago area. My first teaching experience was in Washington, DC where I started a French program at the elementary school level. I taught French to grades 2-6 for four years. During this time I was honored as a Fulbright scholar. I left Washington, DC to live and work in France for a year before returning to my midwest roots. I earned my Masters in teaching Language Arts from Northeastern Illinois University in the 1990’s. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my son Max, whom I adopted from Vietnam in 2008.

About Me

I joined the Attea Global Language team in 2012 and currently teach full-time Spanish for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. I attended St. Catherine Labouré and Glenbrook South High School. I have studied Spanish since high school and have a deep love & appreciation for all languages and cultures. I graduated with a BA in Spanish at UIC and later completed my M.Ed. in Secondary Education (Teaching Modern Languages) at DePaul University. I taught for several years at the Frances Xavier Warde School, a progressive school located in Chicago’s downtown cathedral district. There, I started a Spanish program for the middle school grades 6-8. I have studied abroad in Guadalajara and Oaxaca, México. In addition, I also studied Italian and Portuguese and have a background in bilingual education. Outside of school, I keep busy with my family. My husband is a Glenview firefighter/paramedic and we have three beautiful children. I have tons of fun with my family and we love to read, dance, play, and shop together all the time!

About Me

Hola! I have been teaching Spanish here at Attea since we opened in 2003. I have taught Spanish for many years, and I also teach the English Language Learners here at Attea as well. I attended the University of Illinois (Chicago) as well as getting my Master's from Northeastern Illinois and a second Master's from National Louis University. In my free time, I love walking with my dog Sammie, and being with my family. I have 3 boys, Joshua, Jordan ,and Jacob. They keep me pretty busy!

About Me

Although his first language is Spanish, Mr. Rodriguez was actually born in Chicago shortly after his parents left their homeland of Cuba. He grew up learning his Spanish traditions along with his new American ones as well. Still living in Chicago he formed a successful career in banking before he answered the calling to pursue a career in teaching. Now in his eighth year at Attea, he feels it is a wonderful place to work because of all the creative and motivated students. Mr. Rodriguez has a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and a minor in Spanish. He lives in Park Ridge with his wife and two daughters.
